Welcome
Welcome to the website of the Peach Promenade square dance weekend, our annual celebration of the world’s best peaches, friendliest people and funnest dancing. Come join caller Buddy Weaver and cuers Randy & Lorraine Pratt at the Grand Mesa Middle School in Grand Junction, Colorado. With nearly 12 hours of Mainstream, Plus and Round dancing on a beautiful hardwood floor, find bargains at the silent auction, try your luck at the 50/50 drawing and enjoy fresh, ripe peaches free for the eating. We’ve secured great rates at area hotels and are pleased to offer discounts at local restaurants to make your whole weekend a wonderful experience.

Colorado West Area Square and Round Dance Council
The Peach Promenade is the primary fundraiser for our Colorado West Area Square and Round Dance Council, the coordinating organization of square and round dance clubs across western Colorado. The Council, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, promotes square and round dancing throughout our area and serves as a bridge to the many other clubs and councils across Colorado and the nation. We are an active member of the Colorado State Square Dance Association and share hosting of the State Square Dance Festival on a rotating basis with the other Colorado councils.
The Peach Promenade, first known as the “Peach Festival”, began in 1969 and has been held every year since, except for 2020, when the dance was cancelled due to Covid. For six years it was held at area hotel ballrooms and at the Barn in Lincoln Park. In 1984, the “Festival” was moved to the Mt. Garfield Middle School, which became our home until 2023, when we moved to our current home at the Grand Mesa Middle School. Through all the years, we’ve always featured national-level callers and cuers to bring the very best in square and round dancing to western Colorado.
